Allingham House Care Home Case Study
With 84 en-suite rooms, expansive internal wandering space and dedicated communal drawing rooms, the brief was to make a “true home for life” for general nursing and dementia care. Situated in the heart of Cheshire, we wanted to steer Allingham House Care Home away from the bright, brash, primary colours often seen in care homes nowadays, whilst still ensuring DDA guidelines were met and followed the advice of the Dementia Services Development Centre at the University of Stirling.
Every item was selected based on being practical and fit for purpose from the furniture having rounded edges, to the fabrics being inherently flame retardant and washable through to the themed artwork being double mounted and heat sealed with discreet security fixings. We are delighted and very proud of the finished scheme.
What the Client Had to Say
“Having met with Whitakers, I knew that I could work well with them. They listened to the brief and fully understood the need to ensure Allingham House was not ”just another care home”and they provided so much more than just being a supplier. Their level of service and attention to detail gives that added value that is not generally available from similar companies.” Katie McGoff – McGoff & Byrne.
